Happy Monday, One and All!

I've decided to pay some attention to a more obscure but very important story today. And there is a reason for it, but we'll get to that.

I'd like to tell you the story of Alan Henning.

Alan Henning was a very morally outstanding man. He had visited a refugee camp of people affected by the terrible tragedies of violence in the Middle East. This husband and father of two children (one girl, age 17, and one boy, age 15) was moved by his experience at the camp.

He said he was "inspired to help innocents whose lives were touched". So the brave man traveled to Syria to aid the refugees. While he was in Syria he agreed to travel 3,000 miles to deliver supplies in an aid convoy to delivery them much needed supplies.

However, he was abducted by the Islamic State (ISIS or ISIL) near the town of Al-Dana in Syria.

Unfortunately, this story does not have a happy ending.

Alan Henning was executed by the Islamic State despite pleas and cries from the entire world, including, but not limited to al-Qaeda.

The infamous extremist group behind the September 11 attacks back in 2001 have stated that they legitimately believe Mr. Henning was simply a volunteer trying to help suffering Muslim refugees and that kidnapping him was a step over the wrong line.

Regardless, ISIS ignored the shouts from below for Alan Henning's release, and executed the man on camera and released the video.

The masked executioner stated in a message to the British Prime Minister, "The blood of Haines (the man executed in a video prior to Henning's) was on your hands, Cameron. Alan Henning will also be slaughtered but his blood is on the hands of the British Parliament."
“Alan had gone to Syria to help get aid to people of all faiths in their hour of need,” said British Prime Minister David Cameron. “The fact that he was taken hostage while trying to help others and now murdered demonstrates that there are no limits to the depravity of these terrorists.”
He later went on to say he vowed to track the murderers down and bring them to justice.

The overwhelming support for Alan's family is truly heartwarming. His entire city has been decorated with yellow ribbons and flowers in his honor.

This is truly a tragedy and is one more example of the absolutely disgusting filth that is the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.

However, there is a more important message I'd like you to take away from this than the fact that the scum that is ISIS is still out there murdering innocent people.

The British Muslims have expressed true disgust for ISIS and all their horrific deeds, as well as most Muslim groups.
"Yesterday was a huge day of significance because it was the day when people will seek forgiveness and salvation. It's a time of peace, this was really shocking to a lot of people. If Isis really wanted to win the propaganda war, they would have released Alan. They are not really Islamic: nobody recognises them, and they are hijacking the religion."
This statement was made by Harun Khan, the deputy secretary general of the Muslim Council of Britain.

These men do not reflect the ideals of their religion, and I'd like you, as a person, to always remember that.

These men are monsters. There is no way around that. They are pathetic scum and have reflected that through these pitiful acts time and time again.

However, these men are not the chosen spokespeople of Islam or the Muslim religion.

A couple days ago a person very close to me (I will not name names), kind of jokingly mentioned, before any real details of the story had surfaced, that he didn't think the fact the man who executed his co-worker being Muslim was a coincidence, that he did it because he was a Muslim.

Well, you can try and reason that logic however you like it, but that is pure racial profiling, segregation, and blatant racism.

Racism isn't incredibly uncommon in the world today, unfortunately. Some people still want to hold on to some ignorant belief they're somehow born better than other people.

But we have come to find association between all Muslims as all being terrorists as being an okay thing to assess. It is not. Do not let yourself fall into that belief category. We are better than that.

That topic was super long, so I'm going to cut the stories tonight but I would like to leave a couple notes.

If I see injustice I will speak out on injustice. There is no further complications than that. It doesn't only apply to stories that don't effect me.

So quit whining to your attorneys, because it won't solve your problems. Here's the answer: if you don't want your morals questioned, don't make your morals questionable. It doesn't matter if you're superintendent or not. Hell, it doesn't matter if you're the President of the United States or not. Do what is right.

Thank you, I will be back tomorrow with my next entry!

  1. I'm young high school student on 61 Broadway #2825, New York, NY 10006. I have had problems with my sexuality, gender identity, and place in society. However, even though with these problems, I have still manage to follow this courageous blog. You have inspire to come out to the world and express my inner-Bruce Jenner. That was for humorous effect. You are my muse, flame, and inspiration. I adore you and when I finally "bat" for the other "team". (By that mean switching gender identities) I will find you and express my true desires to you.
(P.S. I sorry for the grammar, I have too much feelings for you.)
